Quote from Bo Bennette about Being Enthusiastic

Quick test.

  • Name 3 things that get you excited about the work you do.
  • Now name 3 things that make you enthusiastic about the work you do.

Notice the difference in your energy as you think about the distinction between the two?

For me, I get excited every morning knowing that each day will be a clean slate to build upon.  But I become enthusiastic when I use my imagination to create the reality I want for that day.  Subtle difference but profound.  But we need them both.

I see excitement as the starting point with enthusiasm being the catalyst for change.  I can feel happy through excitement but when I’m in the state of enthusiasm, I am living more fully in the frequency of joy which is my natural state of being.

And honestly, that’s where all the magic happens!

Think about a recent accomplishment in your life?  It could be work-related or something more personal like a milestone you’ve reached or a personal goal you’ve achieved.  Whatever it is, reflect upon how you felt.  That sense of satisfaction which was as a result of getting really enthusiastic about the prize at the end of the journey.

It’s the enthusiasm that kept you moving forward, putting in the effort, whistling while you worked.

Felt great, didn’t it?

Want to feel that way more often?

Then change the way you think of things.

As Wayne Dyer, said “When you change the way you think of things, the things you think of change.”

And when you apply enthusiasm to your thoughts, you’ll start to see the divinity in all actions you take along the way causing your joy to expand as you give value to the simplest of accomplishments.

Here’s one of my favourite little tunes from the classic Walt Disney film Snow White to help you amp up your joy vibe.

Sing it loud and sing it with enthusiasm!

“Just whistle while you work
And cheerfully together we can tidy up the place
So hum a merry tune
It won’t take long when there’s a song to help you set the pace

And as you sweep the room
Imagine that the broom
Is someone that you love
And soon you’ll find you’re dancing to the tune

When hearts are high the time will fly

So whistle while you work

So whistle while you work.”
