I love Einstein’s quote for this week’s blog and the last in December’s joy habit of Be Abundant. And I saved the best for last. Today’s topic will focus on the abundance of possibilities and a 10-step program that I am summarizing from a great book that I highly recommend by Wayne Dyer.
Once you totally get the fact that the only limits are those that you impose upon yourself, you will be liberated from the shackles of poverty consciousness and instead will look at obstacles as divine opportunities to sharpen the power of your intentions.
Knowing this simple truth is one of the best remedies for helping you move beyond any worry that you might be feeling about what lies ahead in 2021. I for one, believe that our future will be better than our past and I’m excited to be an active participant in its abundant arrival.
So, are you with me? Let’s get started!
In Wayne Dyer’s highly acclaimed book “The Power of Intention”, Wayne takes you on a journey through the fundamentals of intention and then how to put them to work in your daily life in order to attract what matters to you.
In Chapter Ten, he writes specifically about the topic of abundance and since this is the theme for December’s blogs, the following will summarize his 10-step program for implementing the power of intention to attract abundance in all its forms.
“Step 1: See the world as an abundant, providing, friendly place.”
I’ve written about this a great deal, in my blogs and in my book Being Joy™. In fact, it’s the starting place in order to “BE” the state you wish to see. I like to quote Wayne’s saying of “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Really think about that quote. It’s powerful and can literally change your reality. Wayne says, “In this first step, you’re receptive to a world that provides rather than restricts.” By adopting this mindset, you’re allowing the world of possibilities to be more readily available to you, because you’re expecting them to be.
“Step 2: Affirm: I attract success and abundance into my life because that is who I am.”
Working in vibrational harmony with the essence of your Source because you “are” abundant, you will eliminate any distance between what you want to attract and what you are. Abundance isn’t “out there”. Wayne says, “You are already it and Source can only provide you with what it is, and consequently, what you are already.”
“Step 3: Stay in an attitude of allowing.”
This is a big one. Every year I choose a word that will be my “anthem” or “mantra” for the year. 2020 was ALLOW. Sometimes we put up so much resistance and get stuck in old patterns and self-defeating beliefs that keep us rigid. We then become unavailable to possibilities that could be the very ones that move us closer to our desires. This is about being in alignment with Source so that you allow the flow of abundance to become you. Please know that you were created from abundance and that the world is potentially endless. Therefore, why would you impose limits and conditions on what you can attract into your experience?
“Step 4: Use your present moments to activate thoughts that are in harmony with the seven faces of intention.”
In Wayne’s book, he describes the seven faces of intention as creativity, kindness, love, beauty, expansion, unlimited abundance, and receptivity. This step is asking you to be conscious of your thoughts in this very moment and ask whether they are empowering or self-defeating. Because the thoughts you think right at this very moment are the ones that will create your future. It can work no other way. As another one of my favourite teachers Mike Dooley simply states, “Thoughts become things.” So, choose wisely.
“Step 5: Initiate actions that support your feelings of abundance and success.”
Wayne talks about “acting as if or thinking from the end.” This is about thinking, speaking, and doing things that emulate the abundant person you are intending to be. Take on that persona now and joyously celebrate in advance. Then watch what shows up for you.
“Step 6: Remember that your prosperity and success will benefit others, and that no one lacks abundance because you opted for it.”
I especially love this step because it so eloquently expresses my belief in “abundance for all”. And that when I have something it doesn’t mean that you miss out or the other way around. It encourages us to look at life through the framework of “you and me” and not “you or me”. As a spiritually centered conscious capitalist, I also embrace the belief that I can be of greater service to others by living in abundance consciousness rather than poverty consciousness. In fact, I devoted a December blog to this very subject, so if you haven’t already read it, take a read now.
“Step 7: Monitor your emotions as a guidance system for your connection to the universal mind of intention.”
What Wayne is saying here is that “Strong emotions such as passion and bliss are indications that you’re connected to spirit, or inspired, if you will. When you’re inspired you activate dormant forces, and the abundance you seek in any form comes streaming into your life.” I dedicated the month of April 2019 to the topic of inspiration and you might be interested in reading this blog for more insights about this. Purpose and passion are powerful forces. And when you’re feeling good, it’s easier to attract what you most want.
“Step 8: Become as generous to the world with your abundance as the field of intention.”
I’m a big believer in keeping the flow of money circulating. In fact, when I started a new business a few years ago, it was really important to me to make sure I paid fairly for the talent and expertise I needed rather than asking for favours or big discounts. To me it was about living the philosophy of abundance for all by ensuring the energy of the money I paid could contribute to the abundant energy of the business. Because I look at money as energy, to me it’s really important to keep it flowing. And as Wayne said in his book, “Use your prosperity in the service of others, and for causes greater than your ego.”. Wise words.
“Step 9: Devote the necessary time to meditate on the Spirit within as the source of your success and abundance.”
Meditation enables you to have a direct dialogue with your sacred self and Spirit. By allowing yourself to embody the beingness of abundance while in a meditative state, it will help you attune to that higher vibration throughout your day.
“Step 10: Develop an attitude of gratitude for all that manifests into your life.”
Adopting an attitude of gratitude, as they say, is one of the fastest ways to manifest your desires. Give thanks in advance is my motto. It sets the stage for allowing that which has not yet arrived. And especially give thanks for the things that show up that cause you to stumble. There are no accidents, and these are your biggest gifts. As Wayne says, “Everything coming from Source is on purpose.” And I believe you are always protected on your journey.
That’s it for today. Ten helpful steps that have the potential to bring you closer to living an abundantly joyful life. With the new year upon the horizon, I encourage you to embrace the uncertainty that you may be stressing about right now and instead see these changes as abundant possibilities. Remember, you are the only one who has the power to change the narrative of your life. So, what is it that you really want in 2021? Now, just get out of your own way and allow it to happen!
Wishing you a very Happy New Year and until then, keep your frequency high, your mind open, and your joy ever expanding!
