“The chief part of a person's happiness consists of pleasure.” Thomas More

What sights bring you pleasure?

Is it a simple pleasure like noticing the first daffodil opening to announce the spring? The pastel colours of a tropical sunset? Or the smile on a baby’s face?

Perhaps it’s the beauty you see on the walls of an art gallery. Or the various shades of green in the forest. How about the images of future desires that you see when you close your eyes?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So, what do you behold?

One of the fastest ways to remember your joy is to enliven your five senses so that you can choose those things that bring you the most pleasure. And once you are clear about those things, you can begin to notice and actually attract more of them into your reality.

For now, I’m going to talk about sight in a literal context and save the “sixth sense” of sight and “knowing” for a post later this month, so be sure to read that one, too.

Today, I want to encourage you to cultivate the practice of noticing and then appreciating all the beautiful things around you that make you smile instead of the things that don’t. It’s just a matter of training your awareness so that you can literally “set your sights” on that which brings you the most happiness.

But please, start by honouring your own beauty – inside and out. As Wayne Dyer said in his perpetual calendar – The Power of Intention,

“When you feel beautiful, you act in beautiful ways. Beauty proliferates in others just by virtue of your presence when you’re connected to intention.”

So, get connected to all that surrounds you and indulge in the pleasure of beauty today. It is one of the most important things that contributes to your wellbeing and an essential ingredient for joyful living.

Joyful loving from your Joy Mama,
