Do you feel disrespected?

Do you sometimes feel like a doormat?  People walking all over you, dismissing your needs? Do you feel disrespected?

When you begin to feel this way, I want you to find the closest mirror and look into it.  What do you see?  You might think you see a victim.  But I suggest that what you really see is the person who disrespects you the most – yourself!

I know, it’s a harsh truth, but the reality is that we teach those around us how to treat us based on how we see and treat ourselves. Essentially we are just attracting the same energy we are putting out.

If you read last week’s blog, you’ll remember that I wrote about why I believe the joy habit of respect is one of the key doorways for remembering your joy. And that when you honour your sacred self you begin to live more fully in the high vibration of joy energy which is where all the magic happens.

So how do you show others how to treat you?

Well, the obvious first step is to model what you expect. But to get there, you need to start by making self-care a priority in your daily life.   If you want a few tips on self-care, read last week’s blog.

When you start to incorporate self-care into your daily regimen, you’ll be showing family members and friends that you regard yourself as important and are making time each day to do something that helps you remember your joy.  Commit and don’t feel guilty about taking personal time.  You’re worth it.  And it’s a great way to teach children and grandchildren about the importance of building self-respect and self-esteem.

Once you’ve made self-care a habit, you’ll naturally start to feel better.  Your mood will improve.  You’ll find yourself being more patience with yourself and others. You will worry less about what others think.  You will judge less and accept more.  You will resist less and allow more. And you will feel more confident in saying what you need.

You see, your vibration is starting to shift.  Through this practice, you’re remembering your joy.  And it’s like a magnet.  Others will feel it in your presence and want some of that good feeling tool.

That’s what I mean when I talk about the state where all the magic happens.  Not only will you start to attract more of what you want in life, but you’ll be helping to improve the vibration of all those around you.  That’s the real magic.  A balanced world of beings who respect all of creation.  It’s within our reach.  We just each have to do our part.

And until next week, keep your frequency high, your mind open, and your joy ever expanding!
